Meet Ruth, your Relationship & Communications Coach
Hi, I’m Ruth. I have been in recruitment for over 20 years as a recruiter, manager and business owner. I specialise in helping recruiters, managers and directors improve how they interact with their team and clients by adapting their communication style.
I use DiSC as a tool to help people understand more about their default communication style and how it helps and hinders them getting what they want from a relationship or situation.
My experience in the industry means all my workshops have numerous case studies, and role-plays that are relevant to both recruiters and managers.

What is DiSC?
DiSC helps you understand you, helps drive through effective communication, working relationship and ultimately build highly effective teams. By understanding each other more we can play to each other’s strengths, harness skills in the right areas and have the knowledge to deal with challenging situations, build effective relationships within the office, with customers and even with family!
DiSC helps you drive through effective communication and working relationships but most importantly, it is a simple framework that allows you to provide a common language so people can understand themselves and adapt their behaviours.
How does it work?
When participating in a DiSC program, you’ll be asked to complete a series of questions that produce a detailed report about your personality and behaviour. You’ll also receive tips related to working with people of other styles.
You will receive your own DiSC profile; the profile is a non-judgmental tool used for discussion of people’s behavioural differences.
Communication For Performance: Leaders
Every recruiter knows that to succeed you need to be able to adapt your style to a wide range of personalities. Yet many leaders struggle with applying the same approach to managing their teams.
Leaders who cannot adapt their style have higher levels of consultant turn over, as they struggle to say the right things in the right way. Leading to frustration on both sides of the relationship.
This one day workshop is designed to help leaders adapt their own communication style to help them say what they want to say in a way that inspires change in behaviour.
Our session with Ruth discussing our individual DiSC profiles made me really think about how I interact with my team. The flow of the workshop worked well and Ruth generated discussion well and created a safe, all-inclusive and supportive environment. The training was a real eye-opener, in terms of my own self-awareness but also how I can better understand how my team works and therefore, how to get the best out of them.
DiSC profiling has been a great tool to use in general team management and also the development of the individual team members. People work and operate in many ways and have different motivators and stressors and it is good to understand how to select the best way to communicate and work with them. I would thoroughly recommend teams being profiled so everyone understands each other better and how to interact for a more harmonious environment.
